The first one you linked, I think, only gives you RPM, it will not generate an electrical pulse a normal timing light can pick up. That is 4.5° at idle (measuring block 004) The pump builder said to set the base timing to 1.15mm with dial. I have a 11mm mtdi pump built with the 1Z camplate and 502 injectors. How this "spot on" 12° BTDC pulse relates to the SOI value indicated in VCDS? Did anybody measure it? I have actually checked the timing of multiple different makes/models of both IDI and DI/TDI engines set to stock timing spec and all of them have been at 11.5-12.5° BTDC. It is also far easier to check the timing and there is no need to open the fuel system to do so.ġ2☋TDC at idle is spot on.
